WRAPAROUND SESSION (Boston Location):

We currently have one wraparound speaker who will discuss her marketing strategies as a librarian liaison to specific departments.

Have you done something recently as part of a promotional plan that helped prove the value of your library in the eyes of your institution’s management? As part of the program, we would like to hear from librarians (local or regional) who have a story to tell or a strategic marketing plan to share. Ideally we are looking for 15-20 minute presentations with a few minutes for questions to follow the webcast. Please let either Alison Clapp Alison.clapp@childrens.harvard.edu or Nathan Norris nnorris@bidmc.harvard.edu know if you are interested in participating.

Hope to see you March 7th.

Beyond the EMR: The Value of the Clinical Information Team

January 8, 2007

Date: Saturday, January 27, 2007
Location: MMS Headquarters at Waltham Woods

Registration and information

On Saturday, January 27, 2007, MAHSLIN and the Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS) are jointly sponsoring a CME program, Beyond the Electronic Medical Record: The Value of the Clinical Information Team. Among the faculty are four Massachusetts librarians: Elaine Alligood, Donna Beales, Penny Glassman and myself. To illustrate the benefit of having a Medical Librarian on the Clinical Information Team, we will demonstrate how approved medical abbreviations, plain language and knowledge based information can enhance the EMR, adding quality and safety.

The program starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 1:00 p.m., followed by lunch (included in the $40 registration fee).
