Web 2.0 Principles and Best Practices: Discovering the Participatory Web (MLA webcast)

DIRECTIONS:
The goal of this program is to provide a basic understanding of web 2.0 terminology and concepts, assess the effect of the technology on health sciences library services, and identify the impact of web 2.0 services on health care today and in the future.
OBJECTIVES:
*Understand web 2.0 terminology and concepts
*Recognize web 2.0 technologies and their possible effects on library and health care service
*Recognize feature differences among available tools
*Assess the efficacy of particular web 2.0 technologies for use in your own environment
WRAPAROUND SESSION:
The webcast lasts for two hours and will be followed by a wrap-around session featuring Ken Liss, Senior Reference Librarian/Bibliographer, O’Neill Library, Boston College. He will discuss an innovative project at the BC Library which integrates some of these web 2.0 technologies.
REGISTRATION:
There is no charge for MAHSLIN members. The non-MAHSLIN member fee is $25.00. Registration deadline is Friday, February, 28th.
